10 weeks on..........

Postby 98ninja » Thu Jun 10, 2010 2:01 pm

well 10 weeks after selling the 12 i cracked
and bought this.
99 zx9r
43500kms
Ohlins rear shock
crazy high up rearsets ( not sure which brand)
scorpion zorst
front end has been re oiled (previous owner claims to know the perfect oil weight for these)
dunlop sportmax tyres
braided front lines
and the crazy powdercoat red frame.
i rode it home last night and couldnt stop giggling the whole time, id forgotten how fast these things are
and id forgotten the feel of carburettors.

previous owner crashed at the track and scraped the shit out of it, then got it powder coated red.
yes its a little bit odd looking. i think ill just tell people im a newcastle knights fan instead of the long story
and getting the " the frames probably bent" statement.

That's Marko's (I-K's) old bike. Did you buy it from him or did somebody else have it between times? I actually expect it'll be in pretty good nick and if I know Marko it would have been straightened by Laurie Alderton.

Nice pickup - so when are we going to see it up the old road?

yeah, marko had it, then this guy did 1000km on it and lost his licence for 91 in a 50 zone. it was for sale on NSW road and track last july and i was thinking about it back then. im working till monday, so ill take it out for a blat sometime next week. im looking at doing the oxley via tamworth sometime soonish.
the guy in between told me if he had paid an extra 700 it was going to have a full akra system on it as well, but he skimped and its standard headers and the scorpion zorst. but its still really loud, i love the carby bikes for how loud they are.
