thanks Nicko - much appreciated ! I have the old K-Tric programme here, which lets me cross-reference every Kawasaki part made from the dawn of time through to 1998. Every part number for every model, and what it is compatible with.....It's great for all the old-dunger stuff, but no good for anything recent, unfortunately......although there would be a new version out these days I am sure.

I am going to have a stroll through that website now..... :kuda:

WOW ! what an amazing shitfight that turned out to be !! I just went through 8 pages on zx10r.net, and a related 3 pages of vitriolic attack on all things Garthbike over at Kawasaki World !! Those guys take their stuff seriously.......way way waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too seriously. Lots of accusations, wether they were baseless or accurate I have NFI, plenty of assumptions and subjective assessments of ability everywhere you look. ....

But plenty of good tips anyway, on both forums. I almost bid on a 2.5mm piston kit last night !!! mmmmmmmm....1270cc mmmmmm

The version I have is encrypted - I tried to copy it once a few years ago......no good

I can have a look though - what bits did you want to cross-reference ??

Is it on a disk or on your computer?

If so, we may be able to shift it with a little Geek force!

Z7fiddy parts -

Fuel tap mainly, spedo (The bit that leaks, on the engine side!)

I discovered recently that if you go through buykawasaki.com to the 'Owners Info' / 'Parts Manual' section, if you plug in a part number it lists every model the part is common to. Obviously this is US-centric, but no doubt the vast majority of parts are the same.

Cheers,

12's actually look quite good in streetfighter form done properly IMO.

A bloke in vic did one and called it "Shotgun"(12 gauge) very quick / very nice bike ...... apparantly a rather humungous burnout toasted the motor recently though!?
Imagine it would be like riding a Zeddie ............ on Roids!!!! :kuda: :kuda:

Sorry to hear about the off, Gos. Local wreckers here have turned their ZX12R into a streetfighter, so you might be able to get some parts from them? 07 46 321848. Ask for Warren. Tell him Tony told you about it.

Would it be cheaper to buy another bike and then the bits of that you didn't need ?

This one has the same paint scheme you were looking at but in powder puff blue instead of green

Thanks for the tip Tony - I will give these guys a call in the morning and see what they have that I can use.....

Some further progress on the 12 today......got some lower 'fairing' panels fitted... , and some new sections around the tailpiece - also made up a nice bracket for the instrument cluster, so that will be fitted when the bike is ready to roll.......just waiting on the bits from down the coast - hopefully they will turn up tomorrow !!!! :kuda: :kuda: so I can go for a ride on the MFP12 'Wastelands Edition' on the weekend......
