Old .. slow and comfortable.. Just like a Rocking chair..

My girl....

She may not be green.. or of the 'right' persuasion...

.......but she has done several thousand kilometres comfortably and reliably!

Bit heavy in the corners.... (a bit heavy all round really...) .. but damn comfortable... especially when fully laiden for long trips!

.. and for some reason... more fuel efficient above 110k' then at 100k's ... (What's with that?)

I always liked these. Would have bought one long ago if they were the right price. I liked the 89/90 FK/FL models. They look dated now but were great in the day. Your paintjob looks more modern than they do. I'm guessing yours would be 94 or so? They were nearly the fastest bike around when they come out. There was a Kawasaki ZX10 which was a bit quicker then.

Yeah .. it's actually stamped 93 build, but the front indicators to me say it's actually a 94 model.

I have always loved these bikes for versatitilty... before this my bikes were yammies (FZR400, YZF-750R).. But when it came down to locating a decnet priced steed for long distance comfortable touring... she fit the bill.

I'm tempted by the zx-14's these days... but i doubt they will be as comfortable...

ahhh the memories, I nearly bought one of these about 10 years ago, but I bought a VFR750 instead.

my SS Crewman also gets better fuel economy in 6th at 110 then 100, due to the high gearing and not lugging (technical term that) so much at a slightly higher rpm (crewman is 1400 revs at 110)
