2005 ZX6R Carbon

Postby swabio-ACT » Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:08 pm

Hey there,

I am trying to locate a lower fairing in Carbon Fibre for my 2005 ZX6R (Red). I have not successfully found one that can replace the OEM fairing, I found some cool carbon on the OPP site but cannot be used with OEM fairings.

So I contacted Geelong Carbon Craft (http://www.geelongcarboncraft.com.au) and enquired as to whether they were going to do one or not. They said that they need 5 Confirmed orders before they will make it. So I thought I would canvass as many ppl as possible and see if anyone was up for it.

Please PM me if you are keen, so we can hopefully find enough ppl to sort out an order!

BTW gcc do an awesome tank protector for the ZX6R.

Cheers,

Richard

Also see last months Performance Bikes mag for a cool pic of a ZX6R with the lower fairing in carbon!

Hey guys, I work shift work so forgive any tardiness in replying!

The quality of the GCC carbon is excellent, I have their tank protector and it is a sensational fit and quality. A mate of mine is also getting a heap of carbon for his buell, I shall endevour to get some pix up of that!

I will hopefully have a rough idea on price this week, I sent them an email, and they have been pretty good with the replies.

the ZX9 '98 model lower fairing is $606 according to their website, so I suppose we'd be looking at a similar price. I will let you all know as soon as I get a reply!

Cheers,

Richard

Also, if you check into your local bike shop, alot of them carry or have dealt in GCC carbon so see if they have any in stock for you to check out the quality!

Sure beats looking at some pictures on the net!

Here is a pic of my bike with the tank protector on it!

Hey Dave,
Did you here that $606 for a lower fairing for a '98 9, makes me wonder wether it would be profitable to knock a mold off someones 636 lower and knock em out at $450 complete.
Reminds me, must get around to finishing that pattern for the '98 9 hugger.............and getting some more material to produce them carbon front guards.....watch this space

Hey, Pont that's my first, as soon as I get myself sorted after the up's and downs of the last few weeks!
When mine went sideways in the garage, the fairing screw nearly pierced the fuggen casing so I've gotta sort one out to cover the MESS!
I'll let you know bud

Damon,

if you do any carbon for the 05 ZX6 let me know!

I am keen for all carbon!

I am looking at getting the OPP complete carbon kit, just gotta work out a reasonable way of having it shipped from the US.

In the mean time I am super keen on engine / clutch covers!

Cheers!

Sounds like a good idea.
Are you gunna do a mould for the lower fairing I gave ya or do you want the carbon one thats on my bike.??

you gotta do the front guards as there is a big market for those as they fit so many bikes..

I'll support carbon bits for a F series 9 - looking at putting protective covers over the engine and clutch covers, and a rear hugger would be cool at some point too.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Richard ... welcome to the KSRC way :D
