Newbie!!!

Postby Seth » Sat Nov 21, 2009 1:57 am

Hi All! This is Mr's account so I'm doing Intro in his behalf  hope you all don't mind.

He's actually pretty bummed as last weekend he went for his Pre-Learner's and 20 mins before Day 1 ended he thought he was going to hit the barrier so jumped off bike, hence a stack. He knew what he did wrong, he was meant to accelerate and let the clutch go with the turn but Instructor prompted him to go faster, I suppose he wasn't comfortable with speed and got too close to barrier so after jumping off bike he got benched, no explanation, no "this is what you did wrong" and he is now booked for Remedial for next Friday. Is this normal rules/procedure that once you stack it you have to go back?

Only reason I ask is because Mr's friends (x 2) who went, by their own admission noted that they were by far worse than Mr and whilst one has to go back for Remedial too the other passed...the worse one out of the 3  Two girls from another group stacked it at the start when someone is pushing you around on the bike and both passed too.

Oh well nonetheless...we're hoping he gets his license next weekend as he's got a brand new SE Green waiting to be ridden :kuda:

Just to add I'm wanting to get my bike license too, is it advisable to do a few classes before going for the Pre-Learner's? I've never ridden a bike, Mr never has either but he took it up quite well whereas I don't know if I will

Hey and welcome - just posted in the other thread before noticing this one.

Wait to see if Glen posts - he knows all about this.
My missus stacked it and was failed. I've heard others get a more lenient response. It's supposed to be consistent I think.

Now that he's done most of day 1 the remedial will be more straight forward - just don't drop it again ;)
And as per the other thread, just do the L's course and see how you go. When you pass first go you can rub it in to the Mr ;)

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.
Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

Thanks Ty :D

Did your Mrs go for it again? I'm just worried I'm going to look like a total fool without any biking experience.

No she didn't go again - she got pregnant instead ;)

You won't be the only one there without any biking experience - it's designed for you.
Of my group only one (not me) had some dirt bike experience. In my Mrs group no-one did.

I suppose a bubba will definitely stop her riding career. Hope all goes well and enjoy your bundle of joy :D
