I'll be doing the training whether I get the pipe or not.

Now you've got me thinking twice but. If it sounds crap I'll be spewing!

If you really want it just buy it, which it seems you want it. You probably wouldn't be riding a bike if thought with your brain, instead of your heart...

Having heard a few 250Rs with exhausts, they were very loud for what they were, but they never sound 'right'. In other words I think it's pointless...

Youtube also isn't a good place to compare exhaust notes!

400 is a bit high for a used muffler, i ordered a Yoshi TRS in titanium for my other zx10 for $300 from the states! and that was brand new!

Plus honestly listening to that youtube clip it sounds like a tractor lol.
Personally id save your money and spend it on your big bike! Muffler adds no resale so it puts you at least $400 behind getting your new bike!

I'd save my coin and add it to the newer, bigger bike. Two fiddy's are a great starter bike and I wouldn't bother spending money on cans, tinted screens and other "bling".......that's my opinion..... :kuda:

Wattie, that clip actually sounds pretty good for a 250.

You reckon the full exhaust will sound a lot different to a slip on, or pretty much the same?

Fcuk it, I'm buying it!

If it sounds ok, at least the bike looks a lot better.

If it sounds that shit, I'll sell it.

Clay

I had a 250R with the Yoshi slip on and liked the sound of it :) Kinda like a burbly WRX... As stock they sound crap and no-one can hear you!!! If you intend on keeping the bike as long as you say you will Id get it. Try and bargain them a bit though as second hand Id say $400 is on the high side... Then just cut your fender behind the numberplate (or buy another stock one someone's selling) and do the chop jobbie for a fender kill :kuda:

Thanks, Rob.

I bought it, I'm actually getting the slipon for about $380, but the postage from Melbourne makes it $400.

Just got to wait for it to arrive now!

I can't imagine it sounding that bad that I will be disappointed with the purchase. At the very least it will make the bike look better.

What I'm looking at doing now is getting woodcraft clipons and some rear sets for my bike so I can ride it in that sporty position. But I'm not so sure it's worth spending the $400+ it'll cost.

That'd be because of two extra cylinders. I should have qualified that with " a 250 twin sounds shit".
