Have to agree about it being overpriced. Over 50,000k's, 18 years old and a grey import, he is dreaming asking 4 grand. I can't believe the price people are asking for 250's, there must be too many noobs out there willing to pay top dollar for shit-boxes. When I think of the quality of bike I sold with the ZRX1100 (99 model 30,000k's in mint condition with new tyres) for the same price and then this nuffy wants the same for this old dunger. dontknow.gif I personally wouldn't offer more than $2,500 for it as you can get a lot better bike for that price if you are patient.

As every one said before try to stay away from the grey imports. Kawasaki Aust does not recognise these as Kawasaki bikes as they have never brought them into the country. This means that Kawasaki does not support them with parts etc.
The parts are usually only available from some of the importers who bring in complete shit boxes and sell off the parts. It would be almost impossible to get a new part. Saying that in the late 90's Kawasaki sold a bike called the Balius. This is a little naked 250 that was basically the same as the ZXR250 but without the fairings. Some of the parts may be interchangable. If you like the engine, have a look at the Balius. I still believe they were the best learner 250 on the market. For 2500-3000 you can pick up a good GPX or ZZR250. These bikes have shit loads of parts available as they were pretty much unchanged for about 15 years. Ultra reliable and bullet proof.
It is only my opinion but I would look at the other three mentioned above and even other manufactuteres before buying a ZXR250. With most riders you are ready for an upgrade well before the P's expire so look at the resale value of the bike as well. A new bike will mean you may lose more when you go to sell it. An older bike if looked after should be able to be on sold for the same price you purchased it for in twelve months time.

Good luck with the purchase.
Remember, half the people you know are below average.
