I think the problem is in the interpritation of the emoticon. Today  may mean "yeah, OK" in an indifferent manner, but tommorow it may mean, "Oh here we go again, there gonna have to be some whoop ass for this'.

Us poor mono-emotion males alaways pick the wrong one on the wrong day.

Oh, and I agree with Nelso.

Dave was worried about the site getting attacked, or him getting sued so he asked for our thoughts......

So i calmly stated mine.

if you dont like it then dont read it.

same as these people who complain about certain tv shows having to much nudity etc etc, change the farking channel FFS you have the power in your hands its called a remote
And all these Parents who complain that there kids are exposed to that sort of tv  ,they should get off there lazy buts
and get there kids into bed at a normal hour and then they wouldnt have to worry about it ;)

Just because you have the right to complain doesnt mean you have to for every little thing FFS.

My $0.02 worth

 It was wasn't it! Who knew my eyeballs had so much provoking power. Or that with a simple roll, they were transmitting a huge amount of hidden agendas and secret plans to control the forum posts! I think I'll stick with rolling them, and save the booby flashes for world domination and MadKaw's drunken parties ;)

Gazza wrote:if you dont like it then dont read it.

I could just as easily say "If you don't want responses, don't post it on a forum!", or "If you only want positive responses, post it on a friends-only facebook, or write it in your pretty pink journal, with the little lock on the front". That one works both ways.
"Dear Diary... today I found a joke that I just have to share, as it made me think of prancing pink unicorns and rainbows and puppies with bows around their necks"

Again with the reading things into a simple smiley! I wasn't complaining!!! Where are you people getting all this subtext from? I was only ROLLING MY FRIGGING EYEBALLS. Not having a whinge. Not telling anyway what they can and can't post. I didn't write a thesis. I didn't put forward an argument. I didn't complain. I didn't call for censorship. I didn't say I was offended. I didn't cry. I wasn't upset. I didn't yell and scream. I didn't throw a hissy fit. I just rolled my eyes. Like everyone does when they hear something painfully stupid.

Geez - It's almost like I stepped into bizarro-world, what with all these completely off-base assumptions! Maybe stop reacting to what you THINK I was saying and just react to what I actually DID say???

Dearest Cath,

It appears you are quite upset about racist remarks being made on this website.
If you are offended perhaps you should contact the site administrators as this is the proper channel for this type of thing.
You have no idea how long it took me to type those sentences due to laughter.
I would have loved to have seen your face as you were reading them.

In general I try not to use emoticons.
Emoticons give some indication of the tone in which I type.
This make things far too clear and I would rather be more ambiguous and keep you all on your toes.
When I meet people I like to make a litle joke about them as a test of character.
If they get offended I often choose not to associate with them.
If they take it on the chin they are alright with me.
If they stir me up back they are a champion and I know we will get along well.

I say the more jokes the better and if people get offended they can move along.
Political correctness, "hmph!"
I am not a politician so I don't have to be a wanker.

I love you all!
King Nicholas. Keeping it unreal.
