Cardo Scala Rider Q2 Multiset - Bike to Bike Intercom

Postby esie » Tue Jun 23, 2009 8:16 pm

We are considering getting the Cardo Scala Rider Q2 multiset bike to bike intercom system, to replace out old Chatterbox system. As well as bike-to-bike comms without the UHF radio, it also allows for connection to an MP3 player, receiving mobile phone calls by voice command, and connecting in a GPS system to hear the audio through the headset. Does anyone out there have this system? If so, what do you think of it? Is it worth the money? Good quality sound? How is it under noisy helmets and does the wind noise cut into the audio conversation? Any other comments?

Pro Accessories have the sustem for $659, Pro Honda for $680. Online it seems MUCH cheaper, LBH Retail have it for $479, Mr Gadget Aust has it for $492, and Ryda has it for $491.
Cheers,
Anne

Hey Esie,

I have had a scala q2 multiset for a few months and i can't fault it at all. The sound quality is great and the scala units have a built in noise cancellation microphone so it cuts out most if not all of the wind noise. I got my unit from http://www.lbhretail.com.au and it arrived the day after i ordered it. I also had a few more questions that the guys there answered for me so if you still have any questions i would recommend dropping them a line.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi all, just had to offer my 2c - the Q2 headsets with bike-to-bike intercom are great, we got a pair of these recently (also from LBH, they sell them cheapest), & got to test them out yesterday when i went for my first road ride on my L's. It was sooo easy to use, you can just whistle to activate the intercom between headsets, which saves having to reach up onto ur helmet to press any buttons, & then it cuts out after a short while. This was handy as it was my first proper ride, so hubby followed me on his road bike (ZZR600), me on my lil clunker, & he would every so often intercom me to give me some pointers, but not too much. Usually i was the one initialising conversation by asking him for help or instructions/directions, the intercom came in very handy! I would definitely recommend these if you have a mentor who could have their own headset & then intercom you to give u instructions/pointers, its makes it so much easier to learn. Or if you have a small group of ppl that you ride with, we sometimes go riding with some friends, about 4-5 of us, & two of them have already expressed interest in getting these so we can all chat to each other on the road if needed, it would save time having to get off your bike & taking ur helmet off, then take ur phone out to call each other, you can either intercom or just call each other by using the voice tags on ur mobile to call someone up handsfree, as the headsets have bluetooth to connect to your phone as well. Just had to share my awesome experience with the Q2! :D

Strongly recommend caution giving something like this to someone with the x and the x chromosomes, not like they need any help talking... :D

yeah yeah  but seriously, they're really good. Although i dont know if everyone would find them good or not, as some ppl might not be able to concentrate if they had their mentor or someone talking to them all the time, but i had no problem with it, & contrary to popular belief, not ALL chicks have motor mouths (lol), & i actually wasn't talking alot during my first ride, just asking for directions or instructions once in a while, & my hubby did the same. Very handy tool me thinks. ;)

These look interesting. For those that own one, it mentions it works with "up" to 4 blue tooth units - I assume this is all at once (IE can have phone, GPS and other headset all "synced" at one time?).
