Sesame Street: will Elmo lose his job?
The economic crisis has the world in its grip, and times are so tough that even the Muppets of Sesame Street are in danger.
But could the loveable Elmo really lose his job?

Thankfully the furry red critter is safe — but his parents aren't

Your'e not the only one in trouble Diz.
Personally I wouldn't put up with crap. I told my last employer to stick it and walked out creating a huge barney between the partners.
I took myself back to school to learn something new found a job doing that and couldn't be happier.
Good luck with it all.

Well here goes people I maybe creating career suicide or otherwise I am about to take a risk worth everything. I got the job working for a legal software company, it's a lil left field to what I know and i have had to take a paycut but I have been put in the highest paying bracket that they can to take me on as I have to start out a step backwards, I am nervous as all hell, I have to hand in my resignation (again) just after two months which is always horrible but I figure you know what you don't know sometimes unless you take a risk, so huge risk but am hoping for the positive, wish me luck people I need all the luck I can get, oh and as for the the next twelve months, I am officially poor, so any handouts  just kidding, I'll just pimp the man out

Huge thanks to you all for all your advice and well fingers crossed this is the one, cause if it's not, I am stuck for twelve months  :?

good luck with the new job.

I left a great job to work for a relative. was a massive pay cut but it was meant to be a better lifestyle.
he turned out to be a real prick.

It got so bad i couldnt sleep etc etc
i just got up one day and said thats it.
quit that day. didnt have anything to go to and no plans.

ended up enrolling in uni and have done all sorts of work to make ends meet where necessary.
it was the best thing i have ever done. i wont ever work in that type of situation again.
even though i dont earn any money (its only for a year) i am much happier now than ive been in ages.

my advice to anyone in a shit workplace is to leave. lifes too short to spend your days somewhere you hate.

Thanks Stompy, yeah I can't stay where I am, I work for a jackel and hyde type personality and well I deserve better than that, and I have wanted to change career paths for awhile, so here is finger crossed I have made the right decision and if not well I will have 12 months experience in IT which surely will give me something extra under my belt.

Well the resignation letter is written and now it's time to get some sleep before I face the music, I think I will be much more relieved after tomorrow when the wheels are in motion, and I am on my way.

And I have been for quite a few solo rides this weekend which have been fantastic, hadn't done solo rides till this weekend and it was great, brilliant way to clear the head, loved it.

Rob you crack me up that video was absolutely hilarious.

Thanks again all for your great advice and support, means heaps.

Well people it's Tuesday and I am extremely relieved, excited, nervous but well generally happy. Handed in the resignation and, surprisingly it went heaps, heaps, heaps better than expected. The royal one couldn't look at me for the first two hours of the day and I handed in my resignation to the nicer boss, who was genuinely disappointed that I was leaving but at the same time wished me luck. I am looking forward to my week off next week and to starting a new adventure, no more anxiety just excitement and well nervous about starting this new adventure but yeah, I tell you it's very hard not to be walking around here with a big grin on my face. Was funny over the weekend was still in two minds if I was doing the right thing and suffering so much anxiety got to the point that I was shaking, but yesterday came saw the attitude of the jakel and hide boss and was looking at the work I have to do and in the end it confirmed for me that I was doing the right thing, also spoke to a few people about where am heading and all said it's a good direction am going to have to prove myself but in all a great direction, so in all am excited and looking forward to my new adventure and the week of to regroup, refocus and get my stuff sorted for the new job. IT industry look out here I come WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO

Well done Dizzi - very well done :kuda:

Enjoy any riding you can do next week - I'm looking at a ride on Friday morning but not sure where to at this stage. Maybe Richmond - Lithgow via Bells.
