Bit of an update:

Western QBE want $932 year with a 65% NCB - this is kinda do-able.

I tried Suncorp but they don't do bikes in NSW, only cars. Suncorp own, and hence recomended, GIO. I was a bit suss when GIO said they didn't allow more than a 20% NCB, but I thought I'd wait for the price - cheapest they can do (with the full 20% NCB) was over $3.5K.

I was so amused I actually asked if they insure *any* bikes in NSW - the answer: I think we may have a couple on the books ! :D

Will try Arista too, but it looks like I will be able to afford the 9 after all :D :D :D

Thanks Jas,

Unfortunately the Arista quote page requires a number of details that I simply don't have at this stage - things like a VIN.

I will try to find somebody that I can call when I get a few spare seconds.

The Shannon's website lets you do a quote without needing all that info and gives you an answer straight away. I found their prices were pretty close to the Arista ones I'm already paying, but at least you can play around with different options.

Shannons were $1305 (with 65% NCB - full price is $3728) - strangely they charge the same for a 6 or a 9.
