I have two very simple rules/philosophies on this.

1. God loves motorcyclists.
2. God has a sense of humour.

Anyone who has ridden through a pine forest on a clear day knows number one is true. The smells through the visor, the sights from the mountains, etc etc.

And whenever it rains on you on the bike, think of number 2.

Sorry mate. .. wasnt thinking (can you find it in yourself to ... forgive me? ), and thanks to Admin for slotting it in the right spot ;)

Interesting results coming here .... I honestly would have thought there would be more "believers" than non ... but it seems the other way round (for the moment anyway.) ..

Looks likes God has lost some fans .. :snakeman:  ...

nope

But i do beleive that we CAN NOT be the only planet in this infinite galaxy to sustain the massive amounts of life
forms that we do, somewhere out there , there are other life forms that inhabit other planets.
Think of the star treck episode( first contact ) when the human race acheived light speed & no sooner had that hapened ,
down came the vulcans and made first contact with the human race, sharing there technology with us.
This may not be as far fetched as some people may think. ;)

Scott me up beamy

Seriously, nah, I can't do seriously on this subject. Religion - starting wars in the name of peace.

We could do a lot better without all that ceremonial clap trap.

HMMM interesting topic,
God - probably not
I have worked too long for the religious organisations to think they actually believe and follow their preachings, and long enough to see the effect of individuals beliefs to think there isnt anything greater than teh self.
Higher Being / Collective Concious- Possibly, strip religion away from Spirituality and I think you are getting closer to the truth, foundationally all religions try and protray a way of living "better" and "for the greater good" very few if any actually achieve this on a grand scale but through spirituality individuals achieve what the masses cannot.

What about the "Evolution" theory as opposed to the "Creation" theory?

After all we do have proof that dinosaurs were here millions of years ago, and wasnt Jesus here only 2008 years ago?

You misspelled Theory of Evolution and "creation" stories
One has gained enough evidence to be elevated to the status of scientific theory, while the other is a non-scientific variety of changing-goalpost guesses as to how one of the versions of one type of Christian bible can be shoehorned into the observable facts and evidence.

It also has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, as belief in a God and inability to understand science are entirely separate things.

Actually, I do not believe belief in a 'god' is entirely separate to inability to understanding science. I think (and my personal opinion my be wrong) that most, if not all religions are primarily based on giving people comfort in a world they do not understand.

In ancient times people worshiped the sun, just to make sure it rose the next day - once science found that it would always rise, another set of gods were invented - god of war, god of thunder, god of love, etc.

As science finds answers religion adapts. Sure, when people needed moral guidance, they turned to the 'priests' of their religion their wisdom. Religion then became embellished with moral fibre and a code for civilised society. The more science we discover, and the better education becomes, the less we rely on religion - until there are only two types of people left - fanatics who are submerged in doctrine and believe their religion should be everybody's religion, and the old scared of what lies beyond the grave.
