She is a country music singer that was discovered on American Idol, not a teacher. ;)

That reminds me, when me & Michelle went on a trip to the US & Canada, our first stop was in L.A. Missus was in a Laundromat while i wandered off to get us some dinner. When i got back i could see her talking to some lady who had been there when i left. After the lady left my missus told me the copnversation pretty much went like this, and i am quoting as best my memory tells me what was said
Random lady: "where'bouts are you from? i don't quite recognise the accent"
my Missus "Australia"
random lady: "Australia? whereabouts is that? it's not in America is it?"
my missus (slightly shocked): "no, no it isn't"
random lady "it's not in England or anything is it?"
my missus "no, its in the southern hemisphere" (goes on to explain you head to hawaii and just keep going for 7k miles or so)

I nearly dropped our dinner and had to get her to tell me what happened twice just so i could absorb what was said. If it helps, the lady (early 30's or so) had come to L.A. to try and get acting work (not surprised here).
