Tpg last 12 months, Dad has it too and no probs.
Most of the probs with Broadband are as easy to fix as resetting the modem anyway!
Or rightclick the connection Icon and repair. Or restart the PC or Right click My Computer, click manage, click device manager, double click network adaptors, right click ethernet controller and uninstall it, then restart and freshly installed drivers.
And a Partridge in a Pear treeeeeeeeeee

Are you using an usb connection to your modem? it sounds like it.
If you are, don't! you'll find you get a far more reliable connection if you use the modem/router to authenticate and you connect to it via an ethernet cable.
The only problems i have at home now is the wireless is starting to flake out on me, and i suspect i may have to retire my access point and buy another one (or hack it up and install a fan on the side the chassis or something).

Oh and Smitty im only on a midrange plan, the top ones go for around $140/month and i don't know if that includes the home phone or not!

Uninstalling Ethernet contoller has 100% percent success rate after those cockheads at Telstra have had our clients dickin around with all their settings

I'm with netspace and never had a problem. I got put onto them by my IT geek of a mate, i figured he knew what he was talking about. Another mate of mine went with TPG and reckons it's the worst thing he ever did, slow and constant dramas!

I guess what you can take away from all this is that everyone has there own opinion and experiences.
You can have a great company and a bad connection or a bad company and great connection.....
Just make sure your upload is not counted in your limit and that your connection is shaped after reaching download limit and not charged at $6000,000 per Megabyte like TELSTRA'S
Our clients are constantly sucked in by those criminal bastards who don't realise 200mb limit can be used up in a day (at 256) especially when all their uploading is counted too

Tpg been using them for about 6 years they have their ups and downs like all other providers
Below is the best result usually average 4-5 Mb/s
On a 70GB plan 35 on 35 off for $59 a mth and usually use it all running a home network with 4 hardwired comp and 2 wireless Homework sheesh
