Starting over

Postby waynemorgan » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:10 pm

Hi everybody,

Well this coming Friday will be the last day of my career in Finance / Financial planning. In January I was planning to start my Masters Degree in Finance majoring in Financial Planning however I've been diagnosed with an illness that will see me off work for anything from 3 months to totally. Should my health improve to the point I can return to work I'll be looking at something a little less high pressure. The year isn't exactly going to plan.

In the meantime I'm going to concentrate on getting myself into better shape and taking some time to look after myself instead of so many others. My first goal is to spend some time on the bike - get off my L plate and get some km's under the belt. I'm hoping to get up to Windsow on a friday to meet some of you at the WGM and once I have some confidence in my skills get out on a PITS ride (my longest rides so far are Penrith to Campbelltown / Liverpool and back).

I know I've got a lot to learn about riding but now with a little time on my hands I'll be able to improve my skills.

Is 40 to late to be starting over? Personally I don't think so but I do think it's way to early to retire on a pension or give up all together.

Bring on the future.

Cheers,

Wayne :)

Mate, it's never to late to start over. I'm sorry to hear you're unwell, but if that's the motivation you need to make a few positive changes that see you enjoying your life more then it's not all bad. And hey, you're riding bikes so now so you've got plenty to look forward to.

Sorry about the illness that troubles you, but on the bright side you now can do something for yourself as you mentioned and sometimes it takes an interuption to normal life to learn to live and see what is important ;)

40 isnt to late to be starting over, I start life over every morning

Get to those WGM's and have a laugh, after all they say thats the best medicine 8)

Sorry to hear of your illness Wayne.

Take it from me- 40 is the perfect age to start anything over again. Older, wiser, life experience behind you, more able to bounce back from the hard knocks.

Sometimes bad stuff happens to give you a new perspective and give you a little nudge forward to a new start in life. :)

Sometimes a situation that looks totally awful at the time is something that you look back on later and realise it was all for the best. :)

Hope it all turns out well for you.

Kiss slowly,
Love truely,
Laugh uncontrollably,
And NEVER regret anything that made you smile.'

Glad to hear you are still able to ride the bike though :D Thats always a +!!!
Some times it takes a change in our life circumstance for us to move forward into bigger and better things.

All the best for whats to come, I'm sure you will make the best of it :D

its never too late for a change

why work you arse out if it doesnt make you happy
it took me years to finally pull the plug on what i was doing.
And it has been the best thing i have ever done.

Even though you arent feeling the best try to make the most out of your time away from your career cause you will never know what you might end up getting out of it.
good luck with it. im sure it will go great for you.
