Motorbike rider caught speeding at 163km/h in an 80km/h zone
Article from: Herald Sun Staff reporters

March 13, 2009 12:15pm

A MOTORCYCLE hoon has had his bike impounded after he was caught riding at more than 80km/h over the speed limit this morning.

The Wheelers Hill man, 26, was caught speeding at 163km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Princes Hwy near Sandown Racecourse about 9.45am.

The man’s Suzuki motorbike was impounded under the hoon legislation laws. Constable Brad Mascoll said the man was lucky he was not involved in an accident.
“The lucky thing for him is that he has only lost his motorbike for a few days, and we don’t have to notify another family that a loved one has died in a high speed collision,” Constable Mascoll said. “It’s very very frustrating that some road users are just not getting the message.”

The man has been summonsed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on a date to be fixed.

That's only the start of it mate,
$200 - $300 bucks to get it back, then along comes his court date......... I'm gonna guess at about $600 fine + 6 month ban

Says Brad  who no doubt was there and witnessed the whole incident . Good on ya Brad ! Been brainwashed into believing the "Speed Kills" propaganda to such an extent that he can tell from his office desk in the Vic Pol media department , that our un-named 26 yr old suzzy pilot was lucky . Geez that crystal ball must have seen all sorts of potential accidents just about to happen as soon as anyones speedo went over 80kph .
