bye bye bike

Postby the_shez » Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:55 pm

sooooo here i am at work being a good samaritan on NYE and what happens??? a bloody bus knocks over my bike that i've had for how long??? 4 weeks maybe. I'm still alittle confused as to how considering it was in a corner, no where near any parking spots so why the bus was there who knows, but i got that dreaded "umm i have some bad news about your bike" call. I'm not sure if i'm really annoyed yet because i havnt seen the extent of the damage... but i'll be sure to vent my frustration to the bus company that's for sure.

Does flywheels do bodywork? if not, who in the sydney city area does?

Hope everyone is having a better NYE then me, what a great start to the year!!!

Sucks to hear that!

If your bike is only 4 weeks old (New), hit them up for a brand spanka and dont settle for less.

If you've got full comp then:

I think i'd be hitting the bus company up for a new spanker regardless, not like it was your fault and the bike is only 4 weeks old...

after closer inspection every thing seems to be scratched and/or broken, the bus hit one side and knocked it on to a wire fence. there's a few smalls things; exhaust has tiny scratch, both mirros have scratches etc but i will be fighting for a "brand spanker" that's for sure. I had 4 security guys see it so i'm in the clear, my bike was compleatly out of the way so this bus driver fella must have been literally blind or just stupid, or both.

Will ring the bus place on monday to state my expectations.

not happy jan

May I respectfully suggest they will try the 'eff-off you're in the wrong and we're paying you shite as you shouldn't have parked there/your bike was a parking hazard and here's the bill for our bus and the driver's medical expenses/you should have a flashing beacon on your bike under sub-section 2a(ii) of the municipal code of 1987/and anyway we're bigger than you, see you in court' approach UNLESS you go through your insurance company. Get your insurance company involved, that way your bike gets fixed/whatever in a reasonable amount of time, not when the bus company has no other recourse. Insurance companies will fight tooth and nail to recoup their insurance payouts .

This, of course, assumes you are indeed insured :?.

i work for taronga zoo, i had 4 of our security guys see it, it was in the corner of a no parking area of a private carpark aswell as one of those huge witches hats in front of it. If i was them, i wouldnt fuck with me considering we give them 95% (private bus company not state transit) of their business. That makes me sound like a little brat but my security will fight to the death with this and bring them down if need be =). Theres definately cons with shovelling poop for the government. Im lucky it happened when and where it did otherwise i would be screwed.

Look at it this way: Get all the shit of the year done with early on and have a corker of a year the rest of the year! Updates when you slay they giant.
See here, young man,
From Walgett to the sea,
From Conroy's Gap to Castlereagh,
There's none can ride like me.
