strika this totally sux

im so sorry to hear all thsi stuff.
being anurse i would of insisted you stayed in hospital till you ahd eaten a day of solid food but tahst just em casue i had my gallbladder taken out after having bubs and crashing teh bike. i was in agony for weeks and i had keyhole.

basically insist on antiemetics. (maxolon) and insit on trying a different pain medication after continued use morhpine can cause extreme nausea as its starts to become adictive and you have withdrawal symptoms.

if the CT doesnt show anything then ask to have contrast CT done and Barium swallow as he may of constricted the bile ducts and this has caused infection adn inflamation.

also do they have you on any antibiotics, if not they prob should as it is generally routine up here to have stat doses of high concentrated anti biotics just incase post surgery.

anyway heal up quickly and hope this is the last of it for ya.

I had another rough night, with me hurling the contents of my stomach out yet again. They ended up sticking a nasal gastric tube in. I won't go into it except to say that it's horribly uncomfortable.

On the bright side i am feeling a little better right now, but that tends to change hourly, so i'm not counting chickens yet. Pain levels have halved which is a great relief. 8)

.kellz...they're onto it!!! All of what you mentioned has happened, CT showed no tears or twists, so it appears to be just a swollen and spasodic small bowl.

I am pleased to say that I have been feeling a little better this afternoon. The pain is about half what it's been and the time in between is getting longer and longer. I am hoping this is the bottom of the J curve and I am on the way back up from here on. :)

Good news mate....although I'm guessing that the pain has been helping take your mind off them slipping with the scalpel and removing the berries and a few inches off the twig

Thankfully I still have both berries Mick and the twig is still but a twig. I asked him for a little more girth while he had me under, but it didn't eventuate due to him not having much to work with!! ;)

Good morning everyone!!! I'm feeling a little bit better today. I managed to drink a cup of tea and a glass of juice this morning. It stayed down and did not cause any pain or discomfort!!!! Woohoo!!! If things keep improving at this rate, I reckon I might be home sometime this week!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

At least your feeling a bit better mate, although from the sounds of it I won't need to send that cheque to the bloody surgeon either

That would be maxilon JS! It didn't work after 10 days on the stuff!!

Well, I woke up with horrible heartburn this morning, but that's a good thing as it is a normal reastion to having your gall bladder removed. Now the gall fluid doesn't have a storage recepticle, it goes straight into your stomach. I think I might have to have a midnight snack and some mylanta once I get home to stave it off. But that's a good thing as i said, as it means I am feeling somewhat normal!!

I managed to go all day yesterday on clear fluids and had no issues, so I have asked them to remove my IV this morning as I am able to drink by myself now. So that will make me feel a little more human too.

The diet from lunch on has been modded to a light diet. So no more just clear hot broth and jelly!!! Now I can have stuff like scrambled eggs for breakky, Sandwhiches or poached fish for lunch and A chicken fillet for dinner. As well as some more substantial deserts like ice cream, fruit salad etc.,

To be honest, I feel so good that If I manage to eat solid food without issue at lunch and dinner, I am going to check out tonight and go home!! Woohoo!! But, we won't count our chickens until I have had a solid meal for lunch!!

I gotta say, after no food for pretty much two weeks, I look like a holocaust survivor! (Yes it did unfortunately happen and no disrespect to anyone of Jewish pursuasion intended!)
So I am looking forward to having something solid! I really fancy a piece of fish, but as it is a hospital and it's the weekend, the normal weekday menu doesn't apply, so it will most likely be feckin sandwhiches. It's something though I suppose. Once I have this canula removed I could even escape down to the shops to get something I really want, Or catch a cab home (it's only 5 mins) and eat some yummy food from home!! I'm excited!!!!!!! :D
