Quality riding boots, what to buy?

Hi All

looking for some riding boots, does anyone know what Diadora boots are like? they seem to be cheap enough, or is it a case of you get what you pay for?
Would love to get a good pair but really cant afford to spend more than $200.

they do a racing boot, or try dririder nordic if u just want a touring boot ($170)

this might be pushing it a bit, but i picked up my Alpinestar boots for $230 a pair. I think they are called MX4, but dont quote me, but i sitll have them 3 years on! and i love them!

just bought a pair of BERIK gpx-wp boots for $259.00

nice looking boot .

but there is no toe slider.

but so far not bad

I think you might mean a SMX-4.

If your budget is only $200 i suggest shopping on eGay for a second hand set of A* or the like. You'll find some real bargains and if they havent been worn much, hopefully they wont stink! Some havent even been worn (ie guy ordered wrong size or whatever)

I was thinking about RJays Boots as I have RJays Voyager pants, Jacket and Gloves.

i had a pair of Diadora runners a while ago and thought their boots may have been ok, need to do something soon as I am wearing out the toes on my blundstones

FWIW the Aldi boots are supposedly very good and heard that from 3 different pps now. At $70 a bargain if they still ahve em.

I bought a set of ALDI boots and took them back cause the zips were stuffed, they wouldnt hold together, if the zips were better quality they would have been a good buy.

Rather than spend $200 on an "okay" pair of boots, save your dough 'til you can afford some decent ones. These things are going to be protecting your feet and ankles remember; you don't want to skimp on quality.

I bought Sidi Vertigo boots for somewhere around $400. Super comfortable and great protection.

+1 on the SMX-4s. Only complaint is that the toe-sliders don't come further round (though that's more a problem for me due to how I put my feet on the pegs than a fault with the boots)

I can also reccommend these. I bought a pair for the other half about 2 months ago for $220 brand new and they are easy better than my noticably dearer oxstar's

Yep I second that notion !
I forked out the dollars, $400 odd a few years ago for my A* SMX and I reckon they're the biz, seriously !!

I luv em . . . they're very comfortable and they have lasted.
Only negative comment would be that the velcro probably hasn't lasted like I would expect it to.

I would find it very hard to go passed the A* when the time comes for my new boots!!

I suppose it comes down to "what do you want protecting your feet?"

When we bought our last car we spent $1000 on an accessory we will probably never use, Side and Curtain airbags, but hopefully this will give us that bit extra in a stack.

Same goes for boots, hopefully I will only ever need them for comfort rather than having to protect me feet in a stack.

But I cant pull money I dont have out my rear end either
