Micron Exhaust/blue slip

Hi All!
I am new to this forum (registered yesterday) and I already have a problem! :?
I moved to Australia recently and I just bought beautiful, black er-6f 2006 :D (I had Suzuki Bandit before) with Micron exhaust (seller gave me the original exhaust as well). The bike was unregistered and had Queensland plate on it. Also, the previous owner gave me a blue slip done in June, so obviously I had to do another blue slip inspection to register the bike. Today in the morning, I left the bike in the nearest service in North Sydney (car workshop but they do motorbike blue slips as well) and afternoon I found out that the bike will not pass the inspection as there is no specification on the Micron exhaust at all. Apparently, there should be a label on the can with some information. They suggested that I should change the exhaust to the original one which I already have (they will do it for about $150) and then the bike will pass the inspection.
First of all, do you have any suggestions or ideas what should I do to pass the inspection without changing the exhaust to the original one?
Second of all, is $150 a normal price for changing an exhaust in a bike with fairing? It sounds a bit expensive to me…

P.S. I took the original exhaust to the service already but they will change it tomorrow. One thing really annoyed me though – I handed in the original can to one of the mechanics in the service and he accidentally dropped it on the floor… :o Not very professional :/ I am thinking now about ringing them tomorrow in the morning and taking my bike to a better place!

Personally I would put the stock back on then get the blue slip, once its registered but the micron's on

if 1 hour of your time is worth more than $150 then get them to do it other wise just do it yourself it's quiet simple.

agree with tinny just put your stock on take it to the workshop get them to pass it then bring it home and put the slip on back on. SIMPLE :D

sounds logical but i have never done it before :P besides i don't have tools here yet :/

I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..

With a pink slip they are a bit less retentive about most things, but don't get rid of that stock exhaust, you may find that a lot of places wont pass a pinkslip with that pipe on. For the last two registrations on my 900 i've had to reattach the stock can to pass rego (of course the fitting the aftermarket afterwards is solely dependant on when i can be arsed doing it, even though it takes 20 minutes if im taking my time), i don't anticipate this changing any time soon as my bike has a straight through you could nearly loose a tennis ball down..
