Old bike, not so old fairings. problems ahead?

Postby IrishPete » Fri Jul 04, 2008 7:08 pm

Howdy all, just a quickie:

I've gotten my forks, shock etc back from the suspension guy today, so I now have everything I need to put the bike back together. Hopefully this will all happen tomorrow.

Now, the bike is a 96, but the race glass I got with it is off a 98/99. Now although I know the 95/97 and 98/99 are reasonably similar bikes, am I looking at a collosal pain in the arse getting the fairings to go on without much fuss?

Okay, fairings are on. Not nearly as hard as I'd imagined:

Track only mate, then hopefully race only once I've figured out the "going faster than everyone else and not falling off thing" :D

Looking good, I thought it may have been a little more difficult fitting the late fairings but it seems to have worked..
Zip ties are your friend. :-)

What class are you racing in?. Up here the PCRA have NEW ERA for pre 96 bikes, which yours would ok for, although with the later model fairings it may not be eligable..???

I'll hopefully be entering into the interclub/pre-modern series in VIC. Will have to look into the eligibility of the fairings though.
