ZRX Radiator

Postby billwest » Fri May 09, 2008 1:41 pm

My (aluminium cored) radiator (ZRX1200S -'01) has sprung a leak.

I can get it fixed for $44, but that is good for maybe 6 months.

Kawasaki wants $1200 for a new one!
Re-core costs around $660.

Anyone have a line on other radiator suppliers?

Thanks,

Bill.

Have you tried Tealdo from the ZRXOZ site ?

They look pretty swish.

Bastards lied to me.
Does not need to be replaced/re-cored.

I took it elsewhere and was told that the radiator is NOT corroded, it has a split in one of the bars, top left. Most likely due to stress/vibration.

Radiator itself is almost pristine inside (even after 78,000kms).
The $46 fix should do the job.

I will fit some extra rubber to mount it on, to reduce vibrations, should it happen in another 78,000km.........

I had a look at Tealdo's radiator on the ZRXOA site. US$500+. Still, looks nice. OEM via Ron Ayres is US$430. All plus postage, of course.
