suspension adjustment on zzr1100

i have a 99 model and the rear suspension feels to hard solo riding the book talks about how you adjust but i cant see how you get at it other than from under bike Is there way around this. Brian Any advice thanks.

Rear suspension adjustment requires a certain amount of dismantling to get at the adjustment rings. Oh, and a C-spanner too. Mine was too soft when I bought it so I got Rad to rebuild it, then it was too hard, and no amount of preload adjustment would soften it. In the end I binned it and put on a Wilbers shock. Best move I ever made. Loads of adjusters and they actually make a difference when you fiddle with them. Thought about an Ohlins but they were too dear. If you pull off the seat and the tank and unbolt the inner guard and get all the crap that hangs onto it out of the road, you can lift the front of the guard up enough to get at the preload adjusters. You might need to remove the back wheel as well depending on your patience and pain threshold. All you need then is the C-spanner. Brush up on your swearing vocabulary too. You're gonna need it.
