Off to Thailand first thing tomorrow!

Postby Strika » Wed Jan 30, 2008 5:00 pm

See ya's in ten days! Off to Thailand in the morning! Since Singapore didn't eventuate, I thought I'd better not bail out on my holiday! Although I have been O/S a few times in the last ten years, it's been 12 years since I went O/S for a holiday, so I am going to enjoy it. We are staying at the Merlin Beach resort. Fecked if I know where it is! They come pick you up so it doesn't matter! 6 star apparently and all courtesy of turning 40 a while back! Not a bad 40th birthday pressie is it? 8)

I have just irrigated my ears to ensure they are clear for diving, as that is one activity I am going to do a bit of. I am going with Dangerous Dave and his Bride who are meeting us on there way back from a safari in Kenya of all places right now! Hopefully they make it out alive!!

Knowing Dangerous Dave, Scooters or bikes will be hired and the locals will be ducking for cover!

I doubt I will be worried about checking emails, but or those who have my mobile number, I am still contactable by SMS. :D

Last holiday overseas with Dangerous Dave, three of our mates had to be airlifted home after failing to negotiate a downhill hairpin! Dangerous and I came across the turn and both thought..."Shit, they won't make that!" So we hopped off and ran back up the road to warn them! But it was too little too late!! With all three of them following each other straight over the edge of a steep drop off! We can laugh about it now, but one had a broken pelvis and other injuries and another with shoulder, collar bone and ribs and the other with gravel rash and a broken wrist! So, it'll be scooters only methinks!

How the Fark does this work........If you're not off riding for days on end having a ball you're off o/s for a holiday - and it's a present? Jeezus!! Somehow the balance just doesn't seem right.......

Please, story of misery next or nothing ;)

Neka,Donna said just to get yr G/F to put on a strap-on if yr keen to try one!!
Penno,if u had slogged yr guts out for over 20 years you could do what I do too!!!!

Trip has been a hoot thus far. Both my mates now have Thailand tattoos (bark off frm crashing the scooter)!! Had three suits, shirts made which cost less than one in Oz! Food is awesome n Thai people are just so friendly and ever so humble!! Havn't found any cheap bike gear yet. On the lookout for rearsets etc.,
Havn't been to bed before 2am yet!! Made some awesome Thai friends n Donna and I don't want to come home! Weather has been 30-33 every day. Fired some rounds with a 9mm pistol -77% accuracy @ 75 yards!
patted a Big fuckoff Tiger n had a pair of Macaws sitting on my shoulder nibbling my ear lobes. Fed elephants but I refused to ride one...they didn't look happy about it n I kinda find it disrespectful to such a majestic creature. Eaten heaps n shopped for Donna,Gold, clothes, sunnies!!!
