Has anyone seen the spray that you put on your plates?? Apparently makes them invisible to cameras.

I hear hair-spray does the same thing, but I don't personally believe that!

I am impressed with the lens type plates cos I can understand how they work and have also seen a few in the flesh too but the spray I think will only work if the speed camera has a flash unit......only ones I've seen so far don't flash or else I managed to brake hard enough to get below the trip speed

My rego label is mounted to the side of my plate. I can push it up so it blocks the plate from the side. I have been done for it once, think it cost me $120 for an obscured number plate, but no points. The copper checked it after i used the "it blew up bit", bullshit he said feel how tight it is. I have loosened off the tension now so it pushes down easier.
Think it was Mario's mate who got done in Tassie, for putting a leaf over part of his plate. That one didn't cut it either. I can imagine they have seen it all.
I know another guy who has hooked up a motorised track thingy (yes that's the techo term) and his plate rolls up under his seat.

Looking at the back of the bike, bend the right hand side of the plate towards the front of the bike...

If you looked down on the bike, the plate would look like this.

Got it? Those greed cameras then cannot take pics of the last digit of your plate. And if you only do it on one side, it doesn't look so obvious from behind. Still, you need to be careful of cameras mounted on the median strip. It's only cameras parked on the proper side of the road you'll fool.

Bending the plate, hey...?

When in Japan a few yers ago (ok, back in...1999), they had a whole shop dedicated to this sort of stuff: A similar gizmo, but a sliding roller shutter type cover would slide down within 0.5 seconds to cover the plates. Another was a signaling police radar detector with a light source - just a small unit, too! Like the ones for cars buyt about the size of a matchbox. The reflective paints they had were REALLY good - reflected to the naked eye also, so the plate was virtually completely obscured, but during the day it was clear as crystal.
There were heaps of other stuff too, but dont remember most of them.
