After some zx9 info

Postby mick_dundee » Tue Jan 01, 2008 8:12 pm

As most of you now know i recently purchased a zx9, loving it incidentally, what my 9 didn't come with is the toolkit (can buy it for $85)) and stickers on te top fairing, so I want to know a) waht tools are i the tolkit so I can bascially recontrcut it and b) the dimensions of te stckers on the top fairing so I can get them remarde too.

There's not much in it at all.
A pair of pliers, a screwdriver, couple of ring spanners and some cylindrical spanners (or whatever you call the metal tubes with the spanner shaped ends).
I have two if you really want one.

I suggest just:
cable ties
pliers
smallish phillips head
smallish flat head
10mm ring spanner
12mm ring spanner
14mm ring spanner
17mm ring spanner
1 largish adjustable wrench (for the rear-wheel nut)
tyre guage
gaffa tape
ksrc stickers

Dick Smith used to have a nice small tool-bag - grey, zip-up - that fit the above (except adjustable wrench) perfectly and fit in the compartment nicely.

The 4 sizes I mentioned (10, 12, 14, 17) are all I ever needed.

There a bike shop over here that does the ZX9R sticker for the front fairings for $20 a pair, any colour ya want. Don't know if that a bit pricey for ya...
Jus had a look in my toolkit there a couple of spanners, a pair of pliers, a couple of tools for undoing front and rear wheel nuts etc. Basic gear...

$20 is ALOT cheaper than buying OE ones, I have 2 that I havent put on yet.

Mick, just make sure you get "C" model ones, i've seen some bikes with the earlier "B" model ones and they look shite on the "C". Saw a blue "C" with the large ZX-9R sticker on the belly pan on sunday, didnt look to bad. I prices ones years ago and it was close to $100

Yeah not unhappy with the $20 a pair at all, just want to make sure colour and indeed style is right. Gotta be the silver and I believe they had the blue shadown background in same style as the Ninja on the tale.
