Hi from BrisZX9R

Postby BrisZX9R » Thu Nov 15, 2007 12:17 am

G'day all.

33yold Bris guy. have been riding bikes since i was 5. on Road since 17. Noramlly only own 1 bik at a time, but i hope to change that soon and start a stable :D

Currently own a 2002 ZX9R in the orange and black livery. great bike, am in the process of enhancing it a little... i've only had it for 3 weeks. previously I had a ZX9R 1998 model Sold that in 2004 with 75,000kms on the clock, all mine. Thats the bike that made me fall in love with the ZX9Rs. Have been out of bike riding since then due to various factors, work, knee recons etc etc but the bug was too strong and I am back.

My bike now has braided lines all round, crash knobs, orange and carbon fibre tank pad (from Geelong Carbon craft), R&G exhaust protector, Ventura rack, Ventura headlight protector, mini indicators front and back, custom billet oil cap witn "Ninja" written on it, muzzy exhaust - but I want to change that to a D&D or something simliar...

in the furture am looking at getting : carbon heel guards from Geelong Carbon craft, new rims or maybe these ones polished???? new dash (i hate the original one and I like the one from streetfighters.com.. i think), new dark tint double bubble screen.. Also I do airbrushing so I am thinking of keeping the original paint scheme but airbrushing it all instead of stickers just so it looks a bit better but still looks original. want to put new light weight rearsets on and pillion pegs. Am currently in the process of buying all the parts to put a 2000 ZX9R sub frame on the bike... purely so I can have pillion grab handles instead of the little suicide strap the 2002-2003 model comes with. To do this I have to buy new sub frame, new duck tail fairing, handles, new pillion seat, and the hardware for under the seat. Currently I have bought the fairing, subframe and handles. still chasing the rest. If anyone has any hints in regards to this, please let me know. or if anyone has any more ideas on indivualising my bike, let me know.

Hope to see you brissy riders around sometime..

Welcome!

Airbrushing, huh? Might have to get in touch one of these days - I've a little project of my own that needs some of that.

Gday mate,
Shame you live in Brisbane but anyway life wasnt meant to be perfect.
I bought myself a 2002 Zx9R this year (Tiger Gold) after 5 years out of the saddle.
Its a GREAT all round machine, although the best money spent on it for me was on a personalised suspension as I couldnt get the thing to handle to my liking.
I ride the Tiger to the shops, go for a fang on a Sunday morning, go touring on it with the useless club, go to the MotoGp on it, just sit on it in the garage/shed with a beer in me hand. polish it, clean it, get it dirty and do it all over again.
All the Royal Nasho 9 buffs have the Zero Gravity double bubble tinted screens and these make a big difference to the look and the comfort factor.
I replaced the mirrors with carbon fibre $50 ones as the original ones fell off, and they look great, and plus the mini carbon fibre indicators.
Rocket Racer got the rims polished on his 2003 9 and they look SENSATAIONAL, it lifts the whole bike, Im very jealous !
Next up on the list is the full system Akrapovic grrrrrrhhhhhhhh, unfortunately I dont have one yet, but in the chance that I get divorced or win the lottery, its a possibility.
With the Ventura system you could always just put a grab rail on the frame, but why spoil it with a pillion ?
Enjoy mate...........................................
