Have fitted the PC111 to the 14

Postby Blue14 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 8:00 pm

Ok now most of you have followed my saga with the exhaust from ebay.

As you know i had fitted the TBR slip ons and DNA filter.

I have now had the PC111 fitted, and dynoed with custom map.

The results were quite intresting, the initial run before map was 163 rwhp, and after custom map the dyno reading showed just under 173 rwhp :? These were similar figures that the 12 had on this exact dyno.

I had read on some sites in the US that TBR pipes wont really improve HP.. :? Maybe they were right .. :)

Anyway it has plenty of go, huge torque at around 105nm, the low end has heaps more response, sounds awesome, looks tough and i am more than happy. :D

I rode a 14 in anger the other day, no chaperone, from Parra, took it out the back of eastern creek etc and let it loose a little.

Now this is a demo bike so its not had a good start to its life, but jesus krist these things are good, you guys know how much I love my 12R, and if you dont, then I frakking adore the thing, but much as it pains me to admit the 14 is a far more well sorted beast, and I have little doubt that with the appropriate amount of fettling, including arsing that gigantic zorst, it can be made just as puntable, if not more so, than belle

Plans are now afoot, Im going to trade belle in, then get a 14 with 4-1 Yoshi, PC3, BMC filters (i think)

anyone got about 12k spare they wanna lend me

Hey shadow, so are you converted ?? Even one day i will get Gos to admit he would prefer a 14..

I stewed on the idea of giving up my beloved 12 for a while, but now its done i havent looked back, oh except that the bank acct has a big dent in it..

Ive started the process already, with belle in her current sightly sad condition theyre willing to trade her for 9k, 14+Yoshi+PC3+AIr Filters is gonna make me about 12k changeover...which I dont have, Yet

Yes it has converted me, I didnt like it the first time I rode one, but that was essentially a trip up to reservoir road and back again on the M4, this time I got to let one breathe, the front end is particularly inspiring, as is the front brakes ( i rarely use rears so i didnt notice anything better or worse there)

The biggest thing that got my attention was the poise this big mother demonstrates once moving, theyre so light on the wheels, excellent balance overall, and my god the throttle response is just sensational, the throttle on the 14 makes the 12's look like its attached to a bucket on a string in comparison.

Im hoping the Yoshi 4-1 gives it back some teeth, as Im on record as saying I like bikes with a bit of bite to em, If i wanted washing machine blandness id buy a honda

More on this sad tale as we progress, I gotta find a way to finance this now

   not a chance in hell !! I like going fast through corners as well !

I did enjoy the spin I had on the test-bike ZZR1400 last year, but its just a bit too 'toury' for me. Getting toes on the deck on both sides on what was a 'lazy' test-ride opened my eyes up about its ability to scratch..... :( No doubt they go really well in a straight line, but so does the MFP12 :P :P with 170+hp its not surprising.... ;)

Shadow, not a bad price actually with the extras.. And might i ask what color ?? Better be blue mate. :P

They certainly are a wild ride. The weather has been so crap here lately, and i really am missing getting out the rocket of late.

Will definately be the blue, Its very reminscent of the C1 colour that I loved, so much so I had 2 of them:D

Although the red is somewhat appealing also....

And im done with black bikes, its impossible to keep em looking clean :axe:

And gos, rearsets and tip em up on their nose as is standard practise for most Kawasakis

rearsets and lifitng the arse by 15mm might help a bit, but its no scratcher thats for sure. I did like the brakes though    bloody hell, best stock brakes I have ever used !
