KRT SET TO TAKE ON DOUBLE HEADER EVENT . . . HEAD ON !
KRT are preparing to tackle the double header event, Round Six and Seven of the Australian Superbike
Championship, head on this weekend at Queensland Raceway after three days of solid testing onboard
the ZX10R Superbike and ZX6R Supersport posted promising results for KRT.
After receiving the eagerly anticipated all new ZX-6R performance parts, KRT spent a day at Eastern
Creek earlier in the month and a further two days at Queensland Raceway this week, testing and
developing both the Supersport and Superbike race set-ups.
Both KRT pilots, Shannon Johnson and Wayne Maxwell, are happy with the progress being made and
believe they are in great shape to again challenge for podium fi nishes this weekend.
“Everything is going along well in the lead up to racing this weekend and there is a very positive vibe
about the Team,” said Johnson. “I will be disappointed if I don’t fi nish the Superbike Class on the podium
again this weekend, as the ZX10R has demonstrated in testing that it is in great shape heading into
this event.”
“I think the constructive results we have achieved in testing this week have really elevated the spirits
of all the crew and we are looking forward to getting back on the podium this weekend.”
“It is great to see the Team still working hard, so late in the season and continuing to get the most out
of our race machines. It’s not unusual for Teams to begin to wind down as the season nears its end,
but the KRT crew are still as committed as they were at Round One in making the ZX10R and ZX6R
the best they possibly can be in 2007.”
Wayne Maxwell currently holds onto fi fth place in the Superbike Class and seventh place in the Supersport
Class and is confi dent that the Teams recent progress will refl ect in his Championship standings this
weekend.
“To be placed within the top fi ve riders in Australia’s premiere racing category is a great achievement
for the Team and we are looking forward to gaining further valuable Championship points this weekend
at Queensland Raceway,” said Maxwell. “I have traditionally had good success on this circuit in the
past, so I am looking forward to continuing that success over the next few days and fi rmly cementing
my place as a contender in the Championship.”
