Considering an 06 ZX6R

ZX6R, ZX10R, ZX14R, Ninja 1000 etc

nope i do not have this problem. maybe they are holding on too tight? hold any bike tight enough and you hand will go numb.
my bike runs real smooth so cant say i have this problem

Yeah awesome bike, the extra 36cc is a blessing for on the road. Depending on your weight the suspension will feel too harsh for the road, get it dialled in right and you'll be happy. (I found too much rebound and not enough compression up front, rear seemed ok) You may want to invest in a steering damper depending on what sort of riding your doing also.

No issues or problems found to date.

i used to ride a 99 R6 and im about to pick up my 05 ZX6 in the next couple of days.

From my short test ride experience, the riding position is really different to the R6. The seating position makes you lean on the bars alot more than the 99-02 R6 but the seat is alot more comfy. The TACHO is a joke though, especially if you're a tall bloke. maybe a double bubble will alleviate that problem somewhat.

the ZX6 has a much better midrange than the R6, the throttle pickup also feels more refined. However you wont notice a big change in power or torque to the extend of the 750 or 1000s, so its easy for you to adapt to. The front end feels MUCH more planted than the R6 and the suspension seems to hold the road and absorb bumps alot easier.

Well i obviously thought it was a good bike or i wouldn't be picking one up in a couple of days. hehe

Good luck with the search, or you could pick up a bargain in Saki's bike for sale on here.

double bubble fixes that. i couldnt see the speedo unless i was tucked in.
got the double bubble and its fine now. plus it pushes the wind alittle higher so is a bit more comfortable to ride as well.

IMHO dont worry about steering dampers until you have that front suspension dialled in (if you think its a problem). then get one if its still a problem.
i thought i needed a damper and nearly bought one but got my front suspension sorted by James at SPM and the bike doesnt need one now - and it even made it more comfy to ride.

Dampers look cool though 8)

wasnt that a fantastic colour too swabio........they look even bettr in the flesh.

i was lucky enough to ride all the (jap) 600's and the trumpy 675 back to back on a great road (the ox) last year and the 636 was by far the best, the gsx-r 600 was the next best and the rest were all good but didnt give me the confidence and grin factor the zx and gsx-r did.

they were all on stock suspension settings and all std out of the crate, no aftermarket pipes or anything like that.

Actually, I forgot about the grip vibrations when I was typing my earlier post. Linky

It's only an issue on long rides (i.e, to PI and back). A few things have been done to it, and I think it's a bit better now. It's not bad enough that I find it significant - it doesn't affect me on day-to-day rides at all. It definitely isn't from me holding the grip too tight - I've thoroughly tested that. The bike was dropped on the right side, damaging the original bar end, so I was never sure if it was the cause, or not.

I absolutely LOVE my 06 636 and highly recommend getting one; you won't regret the decision, only wonder why you waited so long! :)

I read about that on this site too, a friend of mine has a 04 Z750 with the same issue, buzing in the right handle bar, i rode to sydney fom wakefield after a track day and by the end of it my entire forearm was tingling. Anotehr guy at work used to own an early model 636 and reckons his did the same. What ever i buy i plan on giving a good test ride. hopefully something like that will show up

Oh went and had a look at the bike moday arvo, was at a dealer in sydney, it sold saturday morning... :(

I guess ill just have to wait till another comes up, hopefully in black or blue :lol:

I'm 6' and I still have to duck a bit to see the speedo, even with the double bubble but it's no great drama.

I came off a 98 ZX6R and felt right at home straight away on the 06 model. It's a bit lighter and narrower and crisper in the power delivery and more confidence inspiring. It's extra grunt is good for me because I ride pretty slow and it is still happy to perform, even at lower revs. I usually find it really comfortable but my right wrist does get a bit sore from too much highway touring and I get a few headshakes from harder acceleration up it could just be setup (or rider style).

Anyway, it's a kick-arse bike and you'll love it.

you're not talking about the blue one that was at bikebiz in parramatta are you? i saw it on saturday too

I'm now the proud owner of an '05 636, i rode it 160km from newcastle to sydney and i have to say, my lower back was hella sore at the end of it. i think im not used to how to sit on it yet. BUT i'm now in love, i thought going back to a 600 would be boring, but its such a good bike! GET ONE!

The first thing im going to do is get a DB screen.
