Just an update, i've decided to buy a zx636. Mostly due to financial reasons. But also because they're newer and lighter(im a lightweight at 66kg) and i need to "relearn" how to ride on something a little more forgiving. I will be doing mostly commutes and trackdays, and maybe a couple of rideouts a month.
I test rode one a week ago and i fell in love, its got one of the nicest bike shapes i've ever laid eyes on. The ride was very comfy for the 5 minutes on country roads. However i found there was more weight on my wrists than my old 6 or 1 and rather than sitting in it like a yammie i was more perched on top, i guess its something i'll have to adapt to and change my riding style slightly. Also i finally realised what the deal is with people complaining about the tacho, maybe a double bubble will fix that. oh yeah i love the underseat storage, you can fit a whole helmet under there...NOT
Also even after a year without a bike, i'm still a LITTLE disappointed in the power, coming from an R1. In the end its still only a 600 but i know it'll still entertain me no end. I did a superbike school on an R1, it'd be interesting to see what the 636 is like in that environment and whether i can learn something different from last time. Plus i'm on 10 demerit points, so the thous will have my license in pieces before i realise.
Thanks for all your advice, hope to see you guys out on the road soon.
