Ventura Rack for ZZR-250

Postby shaneblack » Fri Feb 23, 2007 11:34 am

I am looking at buying a Ventura Rack and Bag system for my recently purchased ZZR-250. I've been looking on e-bay at some racks and bags but haven't seen any yet for my bike and am now considering the option of getting new L brackets but getting the bag and rack of ebay or similar, the only thing is no one (inlcuding a couple of kawasaki dealers) seam to be able to tell me what size the rack is that goes onto the ZZR-250 is. So if anyone can tell me the size and/or spacing of the L bracket ends it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Shane

You may find you have difficulty buying the L brackets without the rest of the rack and a bag - Ventura are pretty funny about this.

Good luck though!

Here is the dimensions for the L bracket, tube has an ID of 16mm, bolts are 10mm from memory

----------------------------|
---------------------------| 110mm
----260mm-------------|

-o------o
125mm

The gap between the centres of the 2 brackets (bracket - seat - bracket) is 315mm

The bracket that the bag goes on is as pictured in attachment.

Also note, that according to Ventura, if you supply part of the tag from inside their bag (acts as proof of purchase) you can buy the rack by itself. the importer states this on their web site
But what if I want to buy a Touring Kit and I already own a Ventura bag?

Well, no worries, advise your dealer and just bring in a portion of your Ventura internal bag label and you won't have to purchase a bag as part of your kit. An internal bag label is good for several label portions, which means that you can purchase several further kits without bags after your initial purchase. If you want to know why, click here.
