Brake / Clutch Levers cross fit. GSXR 600.. will they fit?

Hi all,

I recently bought a brake lever for my 97 ZX6R out of a percieved necessity.. The local dealer (Team Moto Yamaha, where I bought my bike used) Sold me a lever from a GSXR. They told me it would fit. I took it home and sure enough it fit. but it was polished aluminum and my bike had black levers on both sides, So I straightened the bent black brake lever that I had and returned the Gixxer lever to the dealer.

While surfing on Ebay for some stuff, I came across a set of Gixxer600 Levers that were gold anodized and they are going at a good price, so I want to ensure before I bid on them that they will fit my bike.

I cant be certain that the Gixxer Lever that the dealer sold me was any particular year. So I am wondering if anyone knows the ability to cross fit these levers over the years.. What Model years fit what model years..
