Cougs and her cowl

Postby Colette » Sat Feb 10, 2007 2:51 pm

Why is it that what should be a simple thing sometimes turns into a nightmare? :?

The rear cowl is not fitting onto my bike properly and I can't work out why. It slots in fine at the back (the end closer to the exhaust) but won't fit right down at the front.

I have put the washers in that came with it and it seems to be put together properly to me, so any ideas?

I had added some pics that might help...

It's really hard to tell without being able to have a look at it, but the only suggestion is maybe the bracket is upside down?

Colette, they are a really fiddly little shit of a thing, and if not done properly...I will warn you...they fly off!!!!! I had mine fitted by the dealer from new! It flew off and Kawasaki replaced it under warranty as they had some ill fitting ones which had jetisoned themselves also! :) then the new was was modified slightly by the shop to make it fit snug and then it was never an issue. I can't remember exactly what they did, but they bent some of the tabs about to make it stay on.

I reckon it will be something simple like alignment of the bracket or as said could be upside down. It really shits you when it happens. Hope you figure it out and dont lose your cowl... Get it, cowl, cool.. Ok i will be off now.. Hastalavista Baby !!
