Tried, 2 different media and no go.. the DVD shrink is a damn fine dea Mr Rossi, i'll give that a run :D

ok so DVD shrink works with DVD's only, this is a series of files ie one season of Seinfeld that I want to burn as 1 season on 1 DVD, looking like a dual layer job for 60 friggin MB

It's not about cost Aardy it's the conevenience of using 1 disc. I'll use a dual layer if my dvd player can play them.

did you try changing the settings in nero to long play ? I know there's an option somewhere to fit files bigger than the 4.5 gig limit !

ah dude, i dont think this was burning it as a dvd player disc, but using it as a data storage medium to toss .avi files onto. Perhaps if the rest fails, recompress a few of them with the newest divx or something to save space? some of the codecs in use nowdays are comparatively inifficient.

Overburning to DVD is quite difficult. You need to have the right media, the right drive and the right software. If any one of those is wrong, it won't work.

If you get it right, the most you'll be able to overburn is 80 to 100Mb. Hardly worth it.

I would create a DVD, to your hard drive, with all the episodes using some DVD authoring software. If it's too big, then use DVD shrink on it. If it's still too big, DVD shrink the shrunk version.
