How old is old????

Postby Black Magic » Thu Feb 08, 2007 1:11 pm

Hey everyone.
I am officially entering my last two weeks of being '30-something', and even though I don't look my age and I feel about 20, it is a little depressing to be almost 40. I sort of feel like I went to sleep somewhere along the way and woke up 20 years later.

Harden the F%$k Up BM(been waitin to use that)

Over 40's great. The kids have grown up, you've got more dough, cops don't hassle you as much, your careers sorted, the friends you've got are good ones because you've either known them a while or your older and wiser and you hang with people you want to. If you've been with the one partner for a while you're probably pretty happy otherwise you wouldn't still be there. I reckon it's great.

The best bit though you really are only as old as you feel and act. Riding bikes usually means you hang around with like minded individuals who come in all ages so you still kind of act like a youngster anyway.

Look forward to it, it's nothing to be scared of and no worse than any other age. Now that I'm almost closer to fifty then 40 I'll give you a report on 50 when I get there although I see it kinda the same perhaps with ahem "added medication"

Old dudes rule

Thanks everyone. I actually think that the reason I feel like this is because I was unhappily married for a very long time. Now I am out of the bad situation it is like I have woken up one day at 40 and wondered where my life went.
You are right though, in that you are only as young as you feel and I only feel half my age.
I'm working on the 'younger man' thing!

I'm sure you'll have plenty of younger men offering to help you out BM ;)

...but in the meantime, don't worry about the number of years and just get out and enjoy yourself and make up for lost time 8)

I went through all that. The whole toyboy thing is waaay overrated tho. I eventually settled for an 'older' man because he has sorted all his life issues, is 'pliable' :D and he is thrilled to bits that he's got a 'young chick' with legs up to her armpits. No matter how old I get, or feel, I'll still be young - compared to him.

Yeap thats true so just stop counting form here my friend and all will be good  Besides you can't turn old on me yet, we have to still go out when I am up there
Once everything has settled with all that you have gone thorough and most people don't go through half the shit you have been through it will get heaps better. You just need time to adjust

anyone older than me is old...
but thats just how my mind works :) so i try to be nice and say "older" instead of old.

but i reckon anyone who acts young is young!

be active and dont tell yourself your old, and hey prestO!!
