mine does , so just put up with it .

Hi Geoff, have any other modifications been made to your 9? Arse raised, front dropped, extra power, slicks?

I had the same problem with my vtr 250 after I laid it down. The shudder your feeling can be from bent forks or triple. Also like others have mentioned it can be a bad tire or worn out steering head bearings. Ive read it can also be caused by the alignment of the front and rear wheel. If the clip ons shudder at high speed something is not right.

My bike used to do this too, until I got new tyres. Now, when I am slowing down coming towards a red light, or down a hill, i CAN TAKE MY HANDS OFF THE HANDLEBARS, and get no head shake, (apart from the people in cars who just don't understand).

I have an E1 ZX9R. It wobbles too. It wobbles with new tyres, and it wobbles with old tyres, it wobbles with good and correctly tensioned bearings and bushes which are fine. I just tend not to take my hands off the bars between 70-55 kph and it's no issue!

Got it sorted about a week or two back.
not sure exactly what it was cause the tyres were replaced at the same time as the discs so its one of those two things.

thanks for the help everyone.

I had the same thing on my gpx, a really unsettling "wavering" when on the brakes, which got worse the garder you hit the brakes. Also was prone to minor tankslappers upon reentry if you tried jumping over a road rise or just took one hand off the bar while backing off.

end problem? farked front tyre.

My old Zx9RC1 used to do that, till i got new tyres and the tyre guy went "fark where are the wheels weights on your wheels? Did you get lots of headshake?"

To which i replied "Uhhhh....yeah."
