dont know if the guy told you but I have read that the standard 9 filter with mesh removed is a better option than a K & N etc, dont know if that would help much.

As for 143rwhp I think I would be happy with that, enough to get you to the shops and back

only reason I ask lol is that when I bought my 2000 model ZX9R the guy had a dyno output.

It made 121 RWHP so 143 is ok in my books

You were hoping for more than 143bhp out of a ZX9 with a pipe?
Obviously you are taking the piss because 143 is bloody good horsepower out of a ZX9R!!!
I'd be as happy as a puppy that just pissed on some new turf in fact. Enough reason for a few brews even :partyman:

I second that. I guess this proves that Blue ones are more powerful though 8)

Disclaimer: while I currently ride a Red bike, I have an affinity for Blue bikes - my previous three bikes were all Blue. As luck would have it, the Z750 is now available in Blue for 2005 :? Typical

Definitely sticking with what I've got Brett. Unless I win the lotto that is. But then I'd be getting a Z1000 for messing around town, a ZX12R for open-road touring duties and an '05 ZX6R for track days 8)

As for the motor, it sure is a gem. Smooth as silk & very reminiscent of the ZX9R. I'm sure you're not biased at all  it is a sleeved down ZX9R motor after all :D

hammer,

i got similar numbers out of my 02 zx9r, and ive a yoshi can fitted. like ian said, it IS a good number, even an R1 of the same heritage cant match the 9r in terms of outright grunt downa long straight. oh, and ive the video footage to prove it too

what gearing you running anyway? ive gone one tooth up on the back (but that was after i had the bike dynoed), 42 tooth now, was 41 before... highly recommend it, fuel consumption seems to have improved a bit too, especially on the open road.
