ignition barrel trouble

Postby WRT_GPX » Tue Oct 17, 2006 2:38 pm

well the bike pissed me off today... it just died for no reason at all... just dead, after a long series of rants, being pissed off at being stranded, i started pushing home, got 500 metres and just decided to jiggle the cable coming from the back of the ignition thing... it sprung to life... but every time i turned it off it would stop again....

i also noticed that when you push IN to turn it to lock it goes in further...

anyways, does kawasaki sell ignition barrels? and if they do does that mean i get a new key or somthing?

there is 2 parts to the ignition

there is the key section and screwed to the back of the lock is a switch section

sounds like the switch is faulty , a little bit of fault finding should be able to work it out in no time

now this switch is screwed onto the back of the tripple clamp , some have allen key bolts and others use snap off bolts to secure it in ,
