Jump, you F-----r Jump!

Mmmmm Not good! today as I traversed my way home over the West Gate bridge from the City, I was met with one go almighty traffic jam. Westbound was reduced to one lane. First I saw a fire truck, then a Mica ambulance, then a truck load of some unmarked unit of officers who were wearing overalls and had all sorts of gear. The police car up ahead had marked off the outer lanes forceing the traffic into the inner right hand lane. It was bedlam.

I couldn't see any accident, and figured it might be a drug/abduction/high level take down of some crim/crims.

However sadly, as I passed by the cause of the jam all was revealed. Some poor bloke had had enough and was standing on the outside of the railing hanging on, while one police negotiator was attempting to talk him back down. I wasn't able to stop to see the result, but hopefully they managed to talk the poor bugger back over the railing. It's a farkin long way down! :(
"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me" Hunter S. Thompson.
There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Nup...

Heaps of people jump off the west gate every year, the reason they dont publicise it is to try and reduce the ammount of people who do.

It's illegal to be standing on that bridge/get out of your vehicle for that purpose.

My father inlaw used to trawl the waters under the bridge 2-3 times a year.
He said you would be amazed at what is stuck in the mud underneath the bridge

He recalls 3 young males, In his short 12 month stint, he gave up after that.

I think from about 100m above sea level hitting the water/mud would be like hitting concrete, you won't be in any fit condition to drown .
