Goodbye 636?

Postby Colette » Wed Sep 13, 2006 5:05 pm

I have it from a reliable source that Kawasaki are likely to discontinue the ZX636, making the current version the final model.

Apparently they are looking to focus on the ZX6, but the drop of 36ccs will be compensated for by improving overall performance of the 2007 ZX6.

Has anyone else heard similar news?

Well, it'd be bloody awesome if they "dropped" the seat height or something useful like that!!!

Dunno about the 36 cc.

would make sense...2 similar bikes, but with different motors..what a pain in the ass!!

one bike would mean more $$ to concerntrate on racing etc..especially since Trumpy do a 675 (cornering the advantage we had of being a little bigger)...

yeah piss those 37 extra cc's off so i can pick up a wreck at auction and actually take it racing in superstock without having to stoop to a cbr, r6 or gsxr, yeah i could buy a ZX6RR but ya just don't see em wrecked.

have multiple sources said that kawa are definately going to drop the 636 next year? or is it still just that one website with some guy taking wild guesses about the future?

its not like they are completely different motors any way.... remember the days when holden would sell the 173ci and 202ci motors in the same cars

I'm pretty sure AMCN had something re this a month or so ago.

Makes sense I guess, two models would be a pain in the butt. I'm sure the new ZX6 will be a cracker.
