I used to have the same problem on my ZZR & 95 ZX6, particularly with some of the SBS pads I'd used. I now use only OEM pads or EBC-HH and I couldn't be happier.

The'yre relativley new pads. Done about 500 km on them. Maybe they havent bedded in properly yet?

I have checked calipers etc and everything seems to be ok. I guess that's just the way they are.

Jase
a guess here..you don't have OE or street pads in
you have 'hard' set of SBS/EBC pads in???

I have heard of this happening before...caused by the pads being too hard!
great on the track..but shite on the street coz they don't get hot enuff
so the pads tries to skate off the disk rotor and makes a grinding noise while doing so....

hth

cheers

Good guess. I'm running a set of SBS's. They also seem to cause the bike to shudder a bit under heavy braking and squeal when I pull up hard.

I've also noticed a lot of grey dust on my rims. I guess I'll go back to OEM's next time.

I was forever having problems with SBS pads to the point where it put me off buying after-market. I recently used EBC-HH pads which I found to work brilliantly.
OEM are probably the best option I guess but in some cases can be 3-4 times the price of GOOD after-market pads.
