:?: Hey Phil, you would have to be one of the most knowledgable and experienced blokes in here, and one would assume, even more so when it comes to Kawasakis awesome ZX9R. :D

So c'mon Phil! I wanna know everything there is to know. Start with the stuff off the top of ya head, and I am sure as you write, and times goes by, you'll manage to fill a few pages in here. :D

I can start you off with a question if need be!!!!! :wink:

I can tell you from numerous miles sitting behind enjoying the view, that Gig, your arse definately looks tiny on your 9! :) Not that I purposely sit behind you checking out your bum. It's just that, well......you're 9 has a slightly different ducktail to mine and I was just trying to see the differences! :oops: :oops: :wink:

fark, now there is some pressure....... :lol:

off the top of my head not really much springs to mind, except for the bracket that holds the petrol tank to the frame. it can get water pooled in it when you wash it, i always take the front seat off and make sure its dry. :o

like all kawasaki's i've had when the gear change starts going to shit its usually a sign the chain needs adjustment, pretty much the same with all the k bikes i've ridden so you prolly already figured that one out.

i get mine serviced every 10K, i know the manual says 12K but 10 is easier to remember. :wink:

what else, um - did you have any specific's in mind :?:

BTW I-K is more technically astute i'd say - i just ride :wink:

got the new m3's on today, i'll let you know how thay go, shaun, my mate who just got the E2 put a set on also.

Well OK, that brings me to my first few questions. What model is a 2000???? C/D/E???? 1/2/3/????

And apart from the usual chain/change warning, and the pooling of water at the rear tank tab, are there any other issues to be wary of. Any must do mods? or is it typical Big K fair, with feck all ever going wrong!!! :)

ok, i reckon braided lines are a must, even with them my brakes are in need of an overhaul, then again with 107+K's on it thats probably about time anyway :wink: i've had the lines on for ages and they feel a bit better. they do like a regular bleed with fresh fluid, i've tried the dot5 types and cant really notice any difference between it and dot 4 on the road.

the E1 like yours had slightly bigger disks, 310 over 300, Marty Craggil (legend) went tru a set of disks on his c model production superbike at malalla in 98 :shock: :shock:

the back of the tank will cop a beating a bagster or decent tank protector is another must.

i found that with the full akra system, no airbox or carbie mods makes it works a treat, we have just done the same thing to shauns e2, he LOVES it.

i've heard of some people having issue with the steering head bearing wearing out too :shock: - dunno how that happens :wink:

other than that not much really, mine still has most of the oe equipment, including the hand grips.

and as dave eluded to the models go like this with colours

98 - C1 Blue or Green
99 - C2 Blue, Green or Red
00 - E1 Mica or Green blue white splash type graphics
01 - E2 THAT green, or red black silver splash
02 - F1 Blue or Gold (right brett)
03 - F2 Green or Blue

slight things changed between each model so that alot of the parts arnt interchangeable, pitty really. although i saw pics of a c model that e front fairing complete with headlights and dash......i love those wombat roasters and letterbox :wink:

Wicked thanks Phil, that's the sort of stuff I was after, I am sure more will come to hand as the alcohol cloud wears off!!

I read on a US forum (kawiforums) that the E model front fairing, instruments and all, is pretty much a bolt on option onto a C model..???? Check out the ZX9 thread at Kawiforums for other useless and usefull information.

The E and F have a separate small loom for the lights. No real problem, just a matter of either changing a plug and getting a $100 (!!!) bit of wiring from Mr Kawa, or splicing in the extra light.

Either way, the "city light" would have to be wired up, unless there's a parking light on the C that I don't know about!

no they dont :( , you could always leave it disconnected but then again i think they look cool too.

did i mention i reckon they are the best bike in the world :wink:

Hoping to stick some new boots on it @ 23rd, and then get it registered that week. Then a final ritualistic, cermeonial ride...........before I "Chop it"!!! After all, it is a Six year old Dinosaur! :lol:

dont expect it to be the same as the r1 you rode last weekend. not as sharp but thats not always a bad thing. its the bikes DO EVERYTHING pretty well ability that i love.

BTW, they like to be thrown around, gotta grab it by the scruff of the neck and it'll do what you want.

i can even brake all the way to the apex if i wish, get that suspension sorted and you'll be laughing - litterally.

i'll let you know how the m3's go but so far they feel pretty good, if you can tell much from a ride to work in pre dawn conditions

I am on the Hunt for a WP rear shock, some Wp springs, and then I will send it off to the guy who does such an awesome job keeping me upright on my racebike, and it should be pretty right. I will need a damper though once I have it set up properly, otherwise it will be a tank slapping pig. I did some calcs on head angles last night, and I reckon it's going to need a significant rear ride height adjustment to get it steering how I like it. It's pretty lazy hey Phil!!

Have you fiddled with ride heights or left well enough alone and just ridden it??? :lol: Does it suffer any ground clearance problems???? (bear in mind Phil, that on the odd occasion, I have been known to lean them waaaaaay over-accidently of course :wink: )
Knowing how they speak of you and the Nasho, you're probably the best person I know of for an honest assesment on clearance!! :lol:
