Mobile phones

Postby Colette » Thu Jul 20, 2006 3:28 pm

I think I posted a thread like this ages ago, but anyway...

If you were buying a new mobile phone, which one would you get and why?

hmmm.

I've got a sony ericsson k700i, the only think I dont like about it is the joystick thingy it uses for navigation of the menu system, I've had the joystick replaced twice in 18months, other than that its quite robust and appears to be remarkably waterproof having survived being dropped in an esky of ice water at Daves 40th

Feature wise I really just need something thats a phone and has bluetooth to pair with my pda and hands free kit in the car, I dont need a camera but its hard to find a phone without these days.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks, I was more interested in the phones, not mobile plans though.

Will be interested to hear what you think of the Sharp phone when you have used it for a while :)

I got the Sony Ericsson K700i, 2megapixel camera with movie mode, media player (MP3 player and mp3 ringtones). Usual txt, pic txt, full phone book, plus apointments, calendar etc. Main reasons for getting this phone was the mp3 ringtone and camera.

Oh, and apparently I can make voice calls too

However, I do like the new feature on 3mobile, where you can have a wireless camera and view it remotely from the phone.

Just lost my Ericson T65 (yeh I know it was old, *cry cry* I really liked that phone, that's why I didn't upgrade), so had to buy a new one.

I'm with Telstra so checked through their site and only found one that I thought would get close to my old phone, so I bought the LG KG800, size wise it's everything I wanted, but it's shiny and fingerprnts show up :(

It has a touch screen which is taking me awhile to get used to, and navigating around things that I'm not used to having is a bit of a pain, but I should get used to it.

Had to buy it outright though (cos half the time my phone bill is minus :)) it wasn't worth getting it on a $30 plan :P

I have the Motorola RAZR V3i. It does everything I need it to do and more. Haven't had any dramas with it so far :D

Funny timing there colette!

I'm trying to decide what my new phone will be.
I really like motorola's, got an e398 at the moment.

Trying to decide between an L7 and a V3i

got a motorolla slvr about 2 months back its great has mp3 which has head phone plug and can use under helmet if u change the earbuds

easy to use version of itunes
good camera
good size screen
bluetooth ear peice comes free with them atm
both bluetooth ear peice and phone use same charger unlike other brands

drop mp3 quality to 64k instead of 128 and u can get about 7 albums on the 128mb card that comes with it and i think it will only take upto a 512Mb card but thats still plenty of music

love it so far :)
