Just as long as it's not your main vein that's having the problems Duane!!!! Whenever you're ready mate. I'm in the office all afternoon, and it's just below me in the toy box. So take your time getting here.

It's only your right leg anyways. You don't need the back brake on the Hornet Duane!

Buy a VFr and that linked brake fandango will do the back brake for you without needing the right leg. V4 for smooth power, 800cc and Vtec gives it a fair punt. On the downside, it'a service cost is astronomical due to the Vtec system.

Anything with a shaft drive would be good for commuting, Gt750?

Maybe a ZZR would be a bit more sedate? I've heard good things about the 600, the 250 isn't that bad (plus there's one in your garage) - and you should know all about the 11 8)

Yeah I thought about the VFR, but then again, it's a honda, and you know all about how hard it is to get rid of them!!! :)

Yurk!!! i still want to retain something!! I might get one of those when I'm 85.

I dont like the zzr600 - never have for some reason. 250 not to bad and bonus is ive pulled them apart and put it back together atleast 3 times... if not mroe, but i cant do that again, never again, i spent 15 painful months on a 250 that i didnt think was painful until i got a real bike, got one in the garage, which i'm going to sell!!

It's a toss up between the z750, z1000 and depends what i think of the hornet just would prefer to stick to the big K

Err don't ride mine then Duane!!! I have taken some time to set it up, and it steers a bit good for a dirty courier bike! And the suspension is unfortunately 100% better than either of the Z's!

But the Z looks 100% better than the Hornet I reckon! :(

z1000 would be a want for power
but the z750 has a great tank range (which is a need)

so i'm back to thinking about a z750 again, and maybe getting some front suspension done with one, but then again if the front suspension is okay i might just save the dosh

anyways this is all like 3 months away, as thats how long its gonna take for my leg to come good apparantly.

the 1000 and 750 have the same tank... to be honest i dont see there being much difference in fuel consumption, my 1000 is better than my 6 was becasue it doesn't have to work as hard :)

Agreed, I get a little better economy from the unfaired unaerodynamic 900cc Hornet than I did from my sleek little 636! :?

We've got a Z1000 and a Z750. The guy we bought the Z1000 from installed a PCIII USB, K&N Filter, & IXIL pipes, and both he and Jeff feel that this has made a difference to the fuel economy. In city riding, the reserve light comes on at about 220km. To test it out, he continued commuting on it without filling up until he got to 270. When he did fill up, he put in 15.88 litres, translating to almost exactly 6 litres per 100kms. In city riding, the fuel light comes on at about 200kms. Nothing has been done to the Z750 other than a Remus slipon, and for country riding it does about 280 kms from it before reserve light, and at about 240kms for city riding.
Cheers,
Anne

Not going to remap esie?

Getting about the same on a bog stock Z750 but the light comes on at 290k approx for country riding (posted speed limits of course  officer)...
Great range anyway

Well....that was the plan, but like all good ideas, the best laid plans... It will get done eventually!

Hi guys,
Im a newbie to this forum and am currently looking to buy a Z750.
Just trying to find out some pros and cons for the bike.
I personally reckon its one of the sexiest nakeds on the market.(especially the black jobby)
I used to be a kawasaki nut many years ago,ive had 2 Z1RS,one was a tricked up unit with a 1280 kit,2 gpz 750 turbos(new) a gpz 750 and the good old classic z650.Since then i have had numerous other brands,my last couple of bikes being 2 vfr 750s and a suzuki hayabusa.
Currently the only bike i have atm is an old honda transalp, but i am comming to the conclusion that you dont need hp to have fun. :)
I have just returned from an east coast trip on this bike(from melbourne to cairns)and just had the best fun. :D big grin.
I went and test rode an 02 zx12r the other night and yes it went like the clappers, but to me it wasnt that much fun to ride.Maybe i am starting to get old,but im realising that performance isnt everything.
What i really need to hear is some info from people who actually have and ride one of these bikes, not just the sales blurb.
Do you guys have a melbourne based group and do you get out for rides as i will be looking for other kawasaki nuts to ride with. :)
Ps im going out to floyd kawasaki in ferntree gully in the next couple of days to demo a z750 and i dont want anyone to tell me to buy the 1000,because ive decided the 750 will do fine.

They do say, once you ride black you never go back, which I agree with! I've got a red Z1K, I was told they were the fast ones, riderforums.com is a great place for information on Z1000s and Z750s, theres not much there that hasn't been disscussed.
