Suspension should be set to your height, weight and how you want to ride the bike... EVeryone's different.

Bear in mind - our bikes are notorious for having rock hard suspension which tends to buck you out of your seat on bumpy roads.

For the adjusters, take a look in the service manual

For how to adjust it for you, take a look here

I only set the sag on my 03 zx6r the other weekend to 35 mm front and rear.

On stock settings for a 68kg rider with my 90kg of carcass inc riding gear on board it was 40mm front and 25mm rear. Backed off the rear preload collar by about 7 turns and it came good, only three turns left in adjustment  .

Added an extra half a turn of preload on front and it came good too, but after track day it could do with heavier springs period.

But never the less that basic adjustment made a huge difference to the rear suspensions ability to absorb bumps without the tyre having to do it.

All of this pretty much requires you and at least 1 mate.

...and remember to wear your regular gear.

Have fun.

If you would like, PM me when you are available, and you can ride over to my workshop and I will show you how you set it up properly so you can then do it with whatever bike you get next. It is a simple and relatively quick process.

I will be in the workshop on Saturday AM swapping over the race engines with a little assistance and braun from Stereo!! If you would like to come over @ 11.00 is we can do it. Will take maybe 1/2 an hour with me showing you what to do!

Yeah I will be there, I have the same bike as you.... and if you look at the way my bike suspension is set up you can see how not to set it up :)
