Just got back from a ride up north and while in townsville, got to take a 14 for a test ride. Talking to the dealer i was surprised to get offered one for 18k rideaway, they had a red and a blue with another blue and a black coming.

wonder what that would make my 12 worth ....... :?

18k :? In bris I pushed a rep and he said they'd go to 20k, must be making a bit of a markup there, either that or the dealer up north wants to get his figures up for some reason.

They are a hot little bike, no doubt about it. Best thing they have knocked out since the 11 8)

 I thought of qualifying the statement but didn't bother, I will now though.
The 12 is too sporty for my tastes, it's all in the riding position of course. Same with the 9, both great bikes for those who like that "over the front wheel feel" But not for someone who likes to sit back a bit. As soon as I hopped on the 14 I felt at ease, you know that Ahhhh, comfortable feeling the *right* bike gives ya.

I'll wait a few more years though, see how they age, see if there are any insurmountable "bugs" in the girl.

I spoke to both alistair and greg, They werent gunna let anyone ride till it was run in but after a quik chat they threw me the keys and were pushin me out the gate. They told me to come back by monday and take it for 1/2hr or so for a decent ride.

Alistars black 12 was out the front 4 sale.....

No ABS or options of a centre stand yet they are standard on the euro models .. :( :?

Greg reconds that the gt version is a definate, but had no ideas of when.

People that buy ZZR1100's are retired and have got too much money ???
Or they are old enough to be almost vintage?
The motors are good because they dont get reved??

BUT enough already.... can we go back to picking on Blackbirds please ??
At least I dont have to fish around for reasons to bag them when none exist!
And lets be honest its that MOTOR that matters

Actually when you think about it the ZX12R was a bit of a side step in the flagship evolution wasnt it?
I mean sure the 14 uses the same sort of frame but it looks more like a ZZR than it does a ZXR.....

And I guess there lieth the real reason any ZZR will retain a higher value than the ZXR.
Sports bikes will always depreciate more than tourers....

And they tell me there wil lbe a NAKED 14..... hmmmmmm :supz:

simple zx12R to zzr1400/zx14, see theres no R, this is proof they are not as good. Its all about the R's.
