Tyre Pressures -Z750

Hey Guy's,

One of the members off this forum unfortunately had his bike nicked from our work last night.

Being the nice chap I am, I let him borrow mine to get home.

Came back this morning and said that the bike seems to 'want to stand itself up straight when cornering'. Now, up until he'd said that, i had never noticed.

So got home from work and played with tyre pressures, found that there is a very definate difference in cornering with adjusted pressures.

So the question I ask is this - what pressure would you run on a Bridgestone 'Battlax' front tyre. (Yes, getting tyres replaced in due time - they were the tyres that were on there).

Curious to see peoples comments - or is it personal preference?

I usually put 36psi in the front and 40 in the rear.... Depending on which model of battleaxe you have....

Its written on the side of the tire by the way....

Most riders use the recommended psi ratings....

i used the settings written on the swing arm for my z750.
i think it was 36 front 40 rear.

i had no problems with it as far as cornering. I did adjust the rear preload (tightened it up a notch)

i changed tyres to pirrelli diablos and they were awesome. the bike felt like it would tip in quicker and they definately felt a lot stickier than the original battlax.

my gpx750 has the following
sub 190km/h / under 95kilo of weight, 32f 38r
over 190km/h / over 95 kilo 36f 41r

i run the latter

When I had the standard Bridgies on my Z750, I just ran it at standard pressure. I have Shinko's on it now, and they made a HUGE difference to the performance of the bike in the twisties. I run these at standard pressures as well.
