any exisiting 04 zx-6r owner out there??? any advise??

any known problems with the 04 zx-6r to beware of or pay more atttention to???

and is it advisiable to do a service when the bike hadn't been running for over 2 months??

do we have to always use the choke to start the bike? if not , doesn't that meean the bike is in shit condition??

Ummm its not really a choke as such on these, its an idle speed controler (being efi and all). My only advise is if its the same as my 03 636 train your balls to retract every time you brake :?

Efi bike should start without playing with the "choke" lever.

Oh and if you panic brake at speed you will stoppie yourself straight into hospital/your grave.

Even an aggressive handful of brake with too much preload dialed into your forks can have you on the front wheel....try that at over 200kph comming into T3 at QR........ooooooh yeah. :twisted:

And if the bike has those OEM pilot sport tyres, piss em off they are crap.

When you crash it make sure you pick up every piece of plastic from the accident site even the lugs off the headlight. Most plastics can be welded...saving you a packet on genuine kawaka parts....

i have an 03 same bike afaik, i never use that choke lever , dont need to :)

i would give it an oil and filter change if its been sitting around, cant imagine anything else would need seeing to!

(I have an 03) On cold days I use the choke..... in fact I generally use it anyway just to help warm up the engine.... But I dont "need" to use it.... but perhaps you have your idle too low...

Don't use choke on mine and I intend on buying a kidney belt very soon...

Oh, and sort out the suspension if you want to have kids anytime in the future... :shock:

I think you guys have it covered :D , give it a service hidpenny and change the plugs and clean out the airfilter should go good after that. :D

I have noticed dealer services (yes i watch) where they didnt want to pull the tank off just do oil and filter.

Warm it up to 100 then switch it off and drain the oil and refill with motul or silkolene and a new filter and then you know its all been done.

The only real issue is why do so many of them turn up at the insurance auctions??

And the sore balls thing but that can be sorted. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I played swapsies with a mate and his K6 GSXR1000 today, we did about 40km on each others bikes from just outside kyogle to the mt Linsay hwy and while i had a ball flogging the tar out of his bike (OMFG what a weapon, its harnessed insanity) my ZX6R pulverised his nuts, and it was the first thing he said when we stopped.

I tend to ride with much of my weight on the balls of my feet and have gotten used to standing up on the pegs on the particularly savage bumps.

I have a back protector which doubles as a kidney belt, and i would NEVER leave home for a ride without it.

it is highly recommended that after purchase of one of these bikes that unless you're of solid :D proportions, the suspension will need to be redone.

That involves a new rear spring, and revalving of the front and rear shocks and up here anyway cost about a grand. in it's standard form the bike tends to bounce all over the road, and frequently tries to eject the rider over the tank

Once the suspension has been done it's still stiff, but the eject seat has been removed and it will greatly prolong your ability to have children :D

And the bike holds a beautiful line through the corner, no matter how rough it is :)

And to be honest I haven't touched the zed all week, I get more of a *grin* factor out of riding the six :D

it's just happened to me this morning, whilst riding with another rider with a triumph 955 on the road, scared teh shit outa me,

but i've been trying to get the front wheel up a little by twsit the accerator but no success :?
