7THSIN'S Track bike (non-Kwaka)

Postby 7THSIN » Fri Apr 07, 2006 5:24 pm

Dont worry, I still love my Kwaka, but this thing has a bit more power, and it's just for track purposes 8)
Yes it has dents in the frame, which is why I got it cheap, and why I'm only using it at the track, feel free to offer you professional opinions on my frame dents, it's amazing what you can tell from a photo

When I bought it...

During....
Image

Dash bracket I made at work, need to weld on a couple rods to support top fairing, I've made allowances for that.
Image

Got a tank with it which is in and out of the paint shop at the moment.
Image

New levers and braided lines
Image

crash knobs for $70, cos one has a skuff on the bottom
Image

Changed all fluids and filters, replaced chain and painted wheels

As of 5 minutes ago...

I'm half expecting you lot to hang shit on me 'cos it's a Poozuki, and it seems to be the general attitude of K riders (on this forum anyway)
So don't sugar coat your insults, give it to me straight

Cheers
Alex :P

Looks good.

Got the rear fairing yet? Could be precious grams saved by taking to the rear subframe with a hacksaw and removing the pillion section :)

Fairings haven't arrived yet

I was told by *fairing company* that they had never made a customer miss a meeting before, well it looks like I'm the first.

I'll chop a few bits and peices off the rear subframe, but I want to work out if I can use anything for tie-down points first.

Has it been to a frame straightener at all?? So long as you got it for the right price it looks like a sweet trakie bike and who cares what breed it is some of our esteemed qld members bring there yamahardlies and we still park beside them.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

No it hasnt been to the straighteners, I doubt it needs it.
There was no suspension damage, and the bike tracks straight and true on the road, even with my hands off the bars, rides like a dream.

Mate take the tip from "Nana" get it to the straighteners. Takes bugger all to twist a scoot let alone one that has dents in the frame. I'd be surprised if the straigtener doesnt find 2 places where it's outta alignment.
Murphy's law says it wont show up till your 12/10ths up the inside of some mug & she goes "Pop thats right i'm twisted" & tosses you into the weeds along with some poor other bugger.

I was at the track today and had a chat to a guy with the same model bike, he gave me the hot tip for frame repair in SA, I'll be heading there when I get access to a trailer
